Alaska 2012: A celebration of wildlife

The exhibit features 78 works of Alaskan subjects, many of which were painted specifically for the summer-long display, Gease said. An opening is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. at the visitor center.

Curator David Wartinbee said he was excited for the display, which was several years in the making. He said residents will likely quickly connect with the show’s subject matter. “These are all things you see in your backyard,” he said. The exhibit runs through Sept. 3.
