Triumvirate Theatre offers a new and frightening take on the classic ghost story Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20. A talented cast of performers will present a series of terrifying tales guaranteed to keep audience members up at night. The performance will feature the talents of Phil Morin, Mike Druce, Carla Jenness and many more. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at $15 per person at the Triumvirate Bookstore, open noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday. No one under age 12 will be admitted.


Sign-ups for the 2012-13 8-ball league at Sharps Billiards are under way. Sign up in person or call Sharps at 335-5600 after 4 p.m. League play begins Oct. 1 and runs Mondays at 7 p.m. The league is $10 to join and $8 perweek, with a banquest, trophies and cash back at the end of the season.

Peninsula Artists in Motion Dance Company’s seventh annual concert is 7 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27 at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium. Pre-purchased tickets are available at River City Books in Soldotna for $12/adult, $8 students/seniors, children 5 and under free. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15/adult, $10/students/seniors, children 5 and under free.

Guest artists include Encore Dance Academy, Anchorage Ballet, Momentum Dance Collective, Pulse Dance Company and Kammi O. This year’s event includes a special fashion presentation by Kat’s Closet with hair and make-up by Jasmin’s Hair Design.

“Lame Ducks and Dark Horses” will play Oct. 26-27 and Nov. 2-3 at the Triumvirate Theatre. The theatre is celebrating the season with the all-singing, all-dancing skewering of beloved Alaskan and national politicians, featuring the comedic talents of the regular Triumvirate players, with appearances by Mitt Romney, Don Young, Barack Obama, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin and Clint Eastwood. (In case of scheduling conflicts with any of the previous public figures, stand-ins will be used.)

Shows start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and available at the Triumvirate Bookstore, open noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.

Registration is now open for the Soldotna Public Library’s 2012-2013 Youth Drama Club. The club is open to students in grades 3-6, and it meets twice a month starting Oct. 9. This free, hour-long program is filled with games, reader’s theater, puppetry, story-telling, poetry, stage craft, movement and improvisation.

There is limited enrollment. The library is temporarily located at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-4227.

Come sing with the Women’s Barbershop group Mondays at 7 p.m. The group sings at the Soldotna Church of God on the corner of Redoubt and Binkley.
