Kenai Fine Art Center presents its annual free Fall Photography Workshop on Saturday and November 3. Each two-hour workshop session starts at 2 p.m. These workshops are presented by local attorney and photographer Joe Kashi and are intended for late teens and adults with some basic knowledge of photography. They’re free and open to the general public. Workshop sessions will discuss important fundamental photography concepts and how you can apply them to improve all of your photographs.
The Kenai Performers will hold auditions for singers, actors and dancers for their production of “South Pacific” Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Little Theater and cafeteria at Kenai Central High School. Show dates are Feb. 22-24 and March 1-3, 2013. Performers auditioning should be able to sing and dance, wear comfortable clothing and bring water. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is accepting photo entries for the 2013 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklets cover photo contest. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Nov. 1. Four images will be selected as covers for regional regulations summary booklets.
Photos should feature one or more youths engaged in sport fishing, or sport fishing activities, in Alaska. The primary person in the photo must be younger than age 18 at the time the photo was taken. I
mages that include advertisements, show evidence of fish and game violations, or unethical or unsafe actions will be disqualified.
Send photos to dfg.dsf.AquaticEd@alaska.gov. The subject line of the e-mail must include the name of the water body or drainage in which the photo was taken. Digital photos must be less than 10MB, but clear and crisp when scaled to 8.5-by-11 inches.
A maximum of three photos may be entered per photographer. With submissions, please include: name and age of the main subject(s); photographer’s name and contact information; name and contact information of the main subjects’ parent or guardian; a brief description of the fishing adventure (what, when, where)
