■ “Christmas Comes to Kenai” Friday, starting with Santa’s arrival at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center at 11 a.m. The T-200 Turkey Trot 5-k/10-k starts from the visitor center at 2 p.m. The Electric Light Parade along Frontage Road in Kenai starts at 6 p.m., followed by a bonfire and hot chocolate next to the Kenai Chamber of Commerce cabin. Grand Finale fireworks start at 7:30 p.m.

■ Marion Nelson’s exhibition of Encaustic works is on display at Kenai Peninsula College’s Gary Freeburg Gallery through Dec. 12.

■ Watercolor art by Brenda Zubeck, Kathryn Joyce and Donna Schwanke-Cooper will be on display at Mugz Cafe in the Blazy Mall in Soldotna through November.

■ The Kenai Fine Arts Center presents their watercolor show in Gallery One, juried by Barabara Lavalle, and in Gallery Too, a group of paintings making Social statements. These shows run through the month of November at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Avenue in old town Kenai.

■ The Cottonwood Gallery on the second floor of the Peninsula Community Health Services building in Soldotna will hosts an exhibit of work by members of the Kenai Peninsula Photographers’ Guild. Work will be on display through January.

■ The annual Kids Art Show at the Kenai Fine Arts Center’s Gallery Too will be on display in December. Children ages 2-12 may submit up to three pieces of artwork. The entry fee is $2. Deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 1. Call 283-7040 for more information. An artist’s reception will take placefrom 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6, with appreciation awards at 6:30 p.m.

■ North Peninsula Recreation is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair Dec. 8, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Public admission is free. Vendor space is available. For more information please call 776-8800.

■ The Annual Ten Thousand Villages Sale will take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Soldotna United Methodist Church, 158 S. Binkley Street. Arts and crafts from around the world. Sale proceeds are returned to the program. Fair Trade creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to ear income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships.

■ The Peninsula Art Guild’s 13th annual Arts and Crafts Fair on Thanksgiving weekend at Kenai Central High School. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 21 at the Kenai Fine Arts Center. Call 776-4008 or 283-7040 for more information and to reserve a spot.

■ An all acoustic jam takes place at the Kenai Senior Center from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays.

■ Veronica’s in Old Town Kenai will be closed Friday and Saturday.

■ The Studio Espresso Shop at Spur Highway and Nikiski Avenue in Nikiski hosts an open mic night on Saturdays starting at 7 p.m. Call 776-7655.

■ St. Elias Brewing Company has live music Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m.

■ AMVETS Post 4 in the Red Diamond Center holds steel-tip darts at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; steak dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday; and karaoke at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

■ The Bow bar in Kenai has karaoke at 9 p.m. Thursdays and live music Fridays and Saturdays at 10 p.m.

■ Hooligans Saloon in Soldotna has poker Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5:30 p.m. and live music Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

■ The Duck Inn on Kalifornsky Beach Road has karaoke at 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.

■ Mykel’s in Soldotna has live music by Bob Ramponi from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

■ Caribou Family Restaurant in Soldotna has live music by Wally Hyde 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays and 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.

■ Main Street Tap and Grill has Wednesday karaoke with Mark Gage, Thursday live music with Dave and Keeley Boyle and 7 Days to Noon, live music on Friday and Saturday night with Troubador North, Sunday NFL Ticket, and Monday Night Football.

■ Call Kambe Cinemas at 283-4554 for listings and times.
