■ Marion Nelson’s exhibition of Encaustic works is on display at Kenai Peninsula College’s Gary Freeburg Gallery through Dec. 12.
■ Watercolor art by Brenda Zubeck, Kathryn Joyce and Donna Schwanke-Cooper will be on display at Mugz Cafe in the Blazy Mall in Soldotna through November.
■ The Kenai Fine Arts Center presents their watercolor show in Gallery One, juried by Barabara Lavalle, and in Gallery Too, a group of paintings making Social statements. These shows run through the month of November at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Avenue in old town Kenai.
■ The Cottonwood Gallery on the second floor of the Peninsula Community Health Services building in Soldotna will hosts an exhibit of work by members of the Kenai Peninsula Photographers’ Guild. Work will be on display through January.
■ The annual Kids Art Show at the Kenai Fine Arts Center’s Gallery Too will be on display in December. Children ages 2-12 may submit up to three pieces of artwork. The entry fee is $2. ■ Kenai River Brewing Company in Soldotna will showcase the artwork of Kathy Matta during November and December. The tasting room is open Monday-Saturday from 12-7.
■ The Elks Lodge in Kenai will host a fundraiser spaghetti feed and auction Saturday at 6 p.m. with the proceeds to help defray travel costs for a Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club team headed to Idaho for a national championship tournament. Dinner is $12 per person, and the event will include silent, ballon and Chinese auctions as well as split the pot and door prizes.
■ Violinist Emily Grossman and cellist Kevin Charlestream will be performing classical duos at Kaladi Brothers on Kobuk on Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
■ Triumvirate Theatre presents a dramatic reading of “A Christmas Carol” featuring the acting talents of Ian McEwen, Joe Rizzo, Terri Burdick, Judy Shields and AJ Seims as Ebenezer Scrooge. One show only, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at Triumvirate Theatre in the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Tickets are $10 with a canned good donation for the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.
■ North Peninsula Recreation is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair Dec. 8, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Public admission is free. Vendor space is available. For more information please call 776-8800.
■ Celebrate the holidays with handmade Russian toys, hand-carved Nativity sets, Matroshka nesting dolls, Christmas cards, hand-carved ornaments, Kokhloma folkart, lacquer boxes, Christian books, Baltic amber jewelry, Russian trade bead jewelry, Orenburg woolen shawls, Lomonosov tea cups and china, aprons, icons, baked goods and Russian pirok meat pies at a bazaar sponsored by the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church and National HIstoric Landmark in Old Town Kenai. The bazaar will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8 at Fort Kenay, located on Mission Avenue across from the Russian Orthodox Church.
