■ Triumvirate Theatre presents a dramatic reading of “A Christmas Carol” featuring the acting talents of Ian McEwen, Joe Rizzo, Terri Burdick, Judy Shields and AJ Seims as Ebenezer Scrooge. One show only, Saturday at 7 p.m. at Triumvirate Theatre in the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Tickets are $10 with a canned good donation for the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.
■ The Kenai River Folk Dancers will host a contra dance 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at K-Beach Elementary School. All dances are taught and called to live music. ■ The Kenai Fine Arts Center presents “Refined Light,” an exceptional retrospective group photography exhibit of images previously selected and exhibited in major statewide juried photography shows. About a dozen well-known Peninsula photographers are hanging their images. The exhibition will run through the end of December.
■ “Circles & Cycles” a show of fiber creations by Jan Wallace, is on display at the Kobuk Kaladi Brothers coffee shop during December.
■ The Cottonwood Gallery on the second floor of the Peninsula Community Health Services building in Soldotna will hosts an exhibit of work by members of the Kenai Peninsula Photographers’ Guild. Work will be on display through January.

■ A cooperative effort from the Kenai Performers and Triumvirate Theatre brings the Cyrano’s Playhouse production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” to the Triumvirate Theatre in Soldotna with shows at 7 p.m. Dec. 26 and 27. Directed by Elizabeth Ware, this beloved American classic comes to life as a 1940s live radio broadcast. Starring Soldotna’s own Jamie Nelson.
■ Pull out your bell bottoms, dust off your disco moves and join the Kenai Performers for a 1970s-themed New Year’s Eve Extravaganza, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31 upstairs at the Kenai Recreation Center. With catering by Kenai Catering, beer and wine, toast at midnight, dancing, karaoke and other activities. Entertainment will be a live music review show by iconic ‘70s performers, plus appearances by favorite film and TV personalities. Attendees also will be awarded prizes for best ‘70s costume, disco dancing and karaoke performance. Must be 16 and up to attend. Ages 16 to 21 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets are $80 per person, and only 200 will be sold. ■ Far North Derby presents a Holiday Bazaar and Flea Market Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Derby Den located in Robinson’s Mini-Mall in Kenai. There will be delicious baked goods, handmade arts and crafts and gently used items along with refreshments and gift wrapping. All proceeds will be used to purchase a sport court floor for the team.
