Jesus is the Reason I Love Christmas

Christmas holds an abundance of very special joys
For EVERY man, woman and even little girls and boys
It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from
This holiday season is really for everyone
We each embrace what Christmas means
Through our beliefs, our symbols, our actions and scenes
Family and friends teach us every single year
To express our traditions in the ways we hold dear
For me — I can feel God’s love so I bow my head and pray
To thank Him for sending us His Son on Christmas day
It’s MY humble way of honoring God’s gift, you see
Because He knew His only Son would one day die for me
But changes to the Christmas season have increased over time
Preventing me to use and enjoy the customs that are mine
BUT I promise now to remember the precious gift God gave
And return to praising the Birth of Christ — and I will be brave!
So when I say MERRY CHRISTMAS, my happy heart sings
As I add my greeting to all the other Christmas things
And observe this holiday with everyone no matter the reason
For Me — the birth of Jesus is why I love the Christmas season
