■ The Kenai Visitors Center will host “A Special Intimate Concert” with Tom Russell and Thad Beckman Sunday. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show runs from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. ■ Peninsula Community Health Services is having an “Employee Art Show” in the Cottonwood Gallery, 2nd floor at 230 East Marydale in Soldotna, for the months of February and March. This will be a mixed media show with the employees of the agency submitting their own artwork for display.
■ The Kenai Community Library will hold a poetry reading in conjunction with National Poetry Month on April 25. Community members of all ages are invited to recite a favorite poem or read an original. Space is limited and participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. ■ The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s annual student art show will be on display at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Town Kenai for the month of April.
■ An all acoustic jam takes place every Thursday. The jam is as Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Kenai Senior Center during the rest if the month. Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.
■ Kenai Joe’s will have a smoke-free show with music by 907 Friday at 9:00 p.m.
■ Veronica’s in Old Town Kenai has open mic Friday at 6:30 p.m. and live music Saturday with Shawna Taylor at 6:30 p.m.
