■ The Soldotna High School drama department presents the Ray Bradbury play “The Martian Chronicles” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Soldotna High School theater. Admission is $5.

■ The Kenai Peninsula Bachelor Auction takes place Saturday at Main Street Tap & Grill in Kenai, with the proceeds to benefit the Central Peninsula Relay for Life. Meet the bachelors from 6-7 p.m.; auction begins at 7 p.m. The event includes a no-host bar and hors d’oeuvres by Kenai Catering. Local bachelors will be auctioned off with prizes! ■ The Kenai Community Library will hold a poetry reading in conjunction with National Poetry Month on April 25. Community members of all ages are invited to recite a favorite poem or read an original. Space is limited and participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. ■ The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s annual student art show will be on display at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Town Kenai for the month of April.
■ The art and photography of Scott Elyard and Raven Amos will be on display for the month of April at K-Bay Caffe. “Archosaurs & Robots” is a combination of two prior shows in Anchorage: “Dinosaurs & Robots,” and “Archosaurs & Automata.” The official opening is First Friday, April 5.
