■ The Kenai River Folk Dancers will hold a contra dance at K-Beach Elementary School featuring live music with the ContraBand from 7-10 p.m. Saturday. All dances are taught and called to live music. ■ The Kenai Community Library will hold a poetry reading in conjunction with National Poetry Month on April 25. Community members of all ages are invited to recite a favorite poem or read an original. Space is limited and participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. ■ The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s annual student art show will be on display at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Town Kenai for the month of April.
■ The art and photography of Scott Elyard and Raven Amos will be on display for the month of April at K-Bay Caffe. “Archosaurs & Robots” is a combination of two prior shows in Anchorage: “Dinosaurs & Robots,” and “Archosaurs & Automata.”
■ An all acoustic jam takes place every Thursday. The jam is as Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Kenai Senior Center during the rest if the month. Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.
