■ The Paint and Pen the Kenai community mural project is on display at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center. For more information call 283-1991.
■ “Small Shots,” with work contributed by local artists, is on display at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Town Kenai.
■ Nikiski artist Jim Evenson’s exhibition of Abstract Stone Lithographs will be on display at Aurora Fine Art on 5th Avenue in Anchorage through May 31.
■ The Kenai Peninsula Orchestra presents an “Evening of Elegance,” a night of fine food and classical music in celebration of KPO’s 30th anniversary on May 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alaska Christian College Conference Center. Music provided by The Areté Trio, featuring Emily Grossman, violin; Kate McVey, viola, and Kevin Charlestream, cello. The cost for this event is $75. ■ Several free flash mob workshops will be hosted by Peninsula Artists in Motion, held at Encore Dance Academy. It’s fun for everyone big and small! Space is limited. ■ An all acoustic jam takes place every Thursday. The jam is as Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Kenai Senior Center during the rest if the month. Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.
■ Veronica’s in Old Town Kenai has open mic Friday at 6:30 p.m. and live music Saturday with Emily Grossman (violin) and Kevin Charlestream (cello) at 6:30 p.m.

Markets, Fairs and Bazaars
■ Kenai’s Saturday Market is now accepting applications for its summer market that runs May 25 to Sept. 14. The market is held at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, 11471 Kenai Spur Highway each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rates as low as $20 per day. For more information call 283-1991.
■ A fundraiser bazaar to benefit the LeeShore Center will take place 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 25 and 26 at Aspen Hotel in Soldotna and Hope Community Resource Recreation Center on Princeton Ave. off Kalifornsky Beach Road. ■ The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area is accepting applications from local food and craft vendors, school organizations, athletic organizations, local artists, churches, information and educational groups and any other interested parties to reserve booth space at the Family Fun in the Midnight Sun Event on June 15 at the NPRSA facilities in Nikiski.
