■ Kenai Performers presents “SUDS, The Rocking 60’s Musical Soap Opera,” directed by Paul Morin. Created and written by Melinda Gilb, Steve Gunderson and Bryan Scott. Musical and vocal arrangements by Steve Gunderson. Come enjoy popular music from the 1960’s, set in a laundromat full of suds and surprises! Presented as dinner theater catered by Kenai Catering Friday and Saturday at the Kenai Merit Inn, 260 South Willow, Kenai. Dinner served at 7 p.m., and reservations highly recommended. Events and Exhibits

■ The Paint and Pen the Kenai community mural project is on display at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center. For more information call 283-1991.

■ The Kenai Pottery Guild and the Peninsula Art Guild are hosting two concurrent and fantastic art exhibits, “CLAY on Display” and “Art Quilts Extraordinaire,” at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Avenue in Old Town Kenai through Friday. Art Center hours are 12-5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.

■ Nature in Focus Photography at Kaladi Brothers on Kobuk Street in Soldotna: Local photographer, Laurie Johnson will be hanging photos from the local area for the month of June.

Entertainment

■ An all acoustic jam takes place every Thursday. The jam is as Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Kenai Senior Center during the rest if the month. Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.

■ Veronica’s in Old Town Kenai has open mic Friday at 6:30 p.m. and live music Saturday with JD and Ian Uponen at 6:30 p.m.

■ Odie’s Deli in Soldotna has live music Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Pub Quiz night every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

■ The Studio Espresso Shop at Spur Highway and Nikiski Avenue in Nikiski hosts an open mic night on Saturdays starting at 7 p.m. Call 776-7655.

■ St. Elias Brewing Company has live music Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m.

■ AMVETS Post 4 in the Red Diamond Center holds steel-tip darts at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; steak dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday; and karaoke at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

■ The Bow bar in Kenai has karaoke at 9 p.m. Thursdays and live music Fridays and Saturdays at 10 p.m.

■ Hooligans Saloon in Soldotna has poker Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5:30 p.m. and live music Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

■ The Duck Inn on Kalifornsky Beach Road has karaoke at 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.

■ Mykel’s in Soldotna has live music Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Robb Justice, and Fridays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. with Bob Ramponi and Dave Unruh.

■ Caribou Family Restaurant in Soldotna has live music by Wally Hyde 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays and 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.

■ Main Street Tap and Grill has Wednesday karaoke with KJ Natalia, Thursday acoustic music with Dustin and Friends and Keeley & Nelson, and live music and dancing with 9Spine Friday and Saturday.

Markets, Fairs and Bazaars

■ Kenai’s Saturday Market runs Saturdays through Sept. 14. The market is held at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, 11471 Kenai Spur Highway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call 283-1991.

■ Farmers Fresh Market will open to the public on Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m., starting June 4 and continuing into September. Farmers Fresh Market specializes in local produce and benefits the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. The market is located on Community College Drive in the Food Bank parking lot. ■ The Central Kenai Peninsula Farmer’s Market features Grown in Alaska and Made in Alaska products, is open on Saturdays until September 28. Market hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. . Market is located at the corner of Corral Street and the Kenai Spur Highway at the bus “turn-around.” Call Carolyn at 262-7502 for more information.

■ A Flea Market will be held in the Sterling Senior Center parking lot 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Vendors may rent an outdoor space that comes with one table for $10. Spaces may be reserved by calling the center at 907-262-6808. The Flea Market will be held each Friday through the end of August. For further information call the center.
