■ The Kenai Fine Arts Center will host an Artists Informal Get-together, an inter-media salon-style meeting and discussion for those interested in two-dimensional art, including photographers, watercolorists and painters to show their work at 6 p.m. Friday at the Kenai Fine Arts Center.
■ Kenai Fisher Poets 2013 will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Featured poets include readings from Pat Dixon, Meezie Hermansen, Rich King, Steve Schoonmaker, Brent Johnson and more. On Sept. 28, A poetry writing workshop with celebrated Fisher Poet Pat Dixon and song writing workshop with Robb Justice will be held at noon at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center. ■ The 10th annual Homer International Documentary Film Festival will be held Sept. 26 through Oct. 3. A gala opening with an International Release of “Muscle Shoals” will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Homer Theatre. Other films include “20 feet from Stardom,” “Blackfish,” and a world premier of “The Old Believers,” the story of Homer’s Russian Community. A festival pass, which allows viewers to see all films, is $50 for adults and $40 for children and seniors.
■ The Kenai Peninsula Photographers Guild will have a photograph display through November at the Cottonwood Gallery, on the second floor of the Peninsula Community Health Services building at 230 East Marydale.
■ The Soldotna Animal Hospital will host an Alaskan themed photo exhibit featuring Tricia Joy Sadler in the upstairs gallery during September.
■ Marion Nelson’s art show of Encaustic (hot wax) and cold wax art works will be on display at Veronica’s Coffee House in Old Town Kenai through September.
