Two vehicles collided on the Sterling Highway Monday night leaving one of the drivers and one of the passengers dead.
Alaska State Troopers reported a 2007 Nissan Titan truck driven by Jesse Chumley, 20, of Sterling, crossed the center lane of the highway near Robinson Loop and struck a 1998 Dodge Stratus driven by Jenna Herrmann, 26 of Anchorage. The accident happened about 7:58 p.m.
Herrmann was pronounced dead at the scene. Bilal Pitts, 35, of Anchorage, who was seated in the left rear seat of Herrmann’s vehicle, died later as a result of the crash.
