What a beautiful week at the Kenai Golf Course!  Sunny days with a little wind has kept the watering crew very busy and the course full of golfers.

Here it is, the first week in August. The course continues to improve each week. Projects continue to be completed and new projects continue to be planned. It is our goal to improve the course each and every day throughout the season. The greens are in great shape and the fairways are excellent. Dusty and Willy and the entire crew continue to do those little things that make our course so special. On the course the views are excellent and the wildlife is abundant. We are, indeed, blessed with a very special golf course.

Okay. Enough rain already. What we need now is warm sunny days. The rain and just the right amount of fertilizer has made the course green and in excellent playing condition. The greens continue to improve every day. Dusty and Willie lowered the green height which makes for better and faster conditions. What a big difference. The fairways are lush and the tee boxes continue to improve also. The cart path leading from the 14 bridge around the tee box on #15 has been completed. This area makes for a much smoother ride now. Thank you, Shane Zimmerman, for your continued hard work.

The Kenai Golf Course continues to improve each and every week. The greens are getting faster and the dead spots are disappearing. Dusty Culbreath and Willie Perkins are busy making improvements each and every day.

Last week they verticut the greens again, getting rid of most of the thatch, which makes the ball roll smoother. This process will continue on all the greens for the next two weeks, especially on Nos. 10 and 11.

Each year we have a couple of small challenges to overcome. However, overall, the greens are in excellent shape and will continue to get even better.
