The season continues to progress nicely. As the weather gets warmer, the course gets greener and in better playing condition each day. The greens are really filling in and rolling well. The few dead spots are disappearing. The greens have been split seeded and overseeded, and have received a second application of fertilizer. They have also been cut shorter this week. Players were surprised with the increase in speed. Please join me in asking the golf gods for warmer temps and a nice warm rain in the evenings hours, stopping at 6am. Hah!

Welcome to a new and exciting golf season at the Kenai Golf Course!  The winter treated us well. We have already cut the greens twice and we are playing on all 18 greens. Number 14 is firm and dry. This is the earliest we have ever been on this green.
The greens are full and turning green with only a few dead spots in the low areas. The slit seeding and over-seeding process has started. The greens and tee boxes are receiving water at night. Fertilizing will begin soon.

The Kenai Open was a big success this past weekend.

Again, thank you for everything.

The Memorial Tournament is a very special event at the Kenai Golf Course. It is nice to remember the people who have left us behind. Who can forget Butch Anderson, Rita Botelho, Donnie Morgan and the recently departed Bill Zubeck? These were very special people in so many ways and they added a great deal to the Kenai Golf Course. We still miss them all and will continue to do so in the years to come.
