Snow. Rain. Wind. Temperatures below freezing.
It was a state track meet few will soon forget Friday and Saturday at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks.
“The weather was unbelievable,” Soldotna coach Pat Nolden said. “It started out 20 degrees this morning.”
The meet was memorable for more reasons than the weather. The Kenai Peninsula was particularly strong in the Class 1-2-3A meet, where the Skyview boys tied for third, the Homer girls took second and the Skyview girls took third.
