A hungry crowd enjoyed attending an event on Saturday, May 5 to celebrate Cinco de Mayo where they could try many salsas and vote on their favorite tastes. The Kenai River Rotary Club – Soldotna, sponsored a Salsa competition at the Duck Inn on K-Beach Road, where thirteen restaurants and caterers provided seventeen salsas to sample. Some were hot and spicy, while some were mild and mellow. After more than three hours of going through mounds of chips and bowls of salsa, there were some clear winners.
