A game camera set up by Demian Sagerser, an Anchor Point man shot dead in July, provided Alaska State Troopers with one of the first clues to who might have killed him. 

Sagerser set up the camera outside his cabin after a prior burglary, and that camera caught the image of a dark-skinned man in a red jacket, red T-shirt and a red ball cap walking toward the cabin the night of his death.

Trooper investigators allege the man in the red jacket is Demarqus D. Green, 20, of Anchorage, and that Green shot and killed Sagerser over a marijuana deal. 

Alaska Bureau of Investigation Troopers and Anchorage Police today arrested a suspect in Anchorage for the death of Demian Sagerser, an Anchor Point man killed by multiple gunshot wounds on July 8.

Demarqus Deshean Green, 20, of Anchorage faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

According to a trooper press release, troopers and police arrested Green near his Anchorage home while serving a search warrant. Charges were filed at the Kenai Courthouse. Green was taken to the Anchorage Jail.

Three candidates will appear on the Aug. 28 primary ballots in District 30, which stretches from Homer to Kasilof, and includes Funny River. 

On the Republican ballot, Jon Faulkner is challenging incumbent Paul Seaton. Elizabeth Diament is running for the seat as a Democrat.

Going into his sixth race to represent Homer and the lower Kenai Peninsula in the House, Rep. Paul Seaton, R-Homer, said he still likes the work.

Starting shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday, Alaska State Troopers began receiving Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately calls about a yellow SUV being operated in an erratic manner.

One of the first calls came from Randy and Nancy Boeshart. The Kasilof couple was returning home from Homer. At about 5:20 p.m., they were near Mile 153 when "all of a sudden, bam, it hit the back of our car," said Randy Boeshart of the SUV striking the back of his BMW.

"We were just cruising along and all of a sudden it happened. ... I didn't even see her in the rear view mirror."
