Every coach tells swimmers to finish strong.
Soldotna High School took that to heart at the state championship in Anchorage on Saturday.
The Stars’ strongest showing at the Bartlett High School pool came in the team’s last event — the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Senior Sawyer Rickman and juniors Daniel McElroy, Dustin Hunter and Chase Corona-Cain took second with a time of 1 minute, 30.54 seconds, behind the Dimond Lynx, who won the event in 1:29.19.
Rickman anchored the relay.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better relay for my senior year,” Rickman said.
