Boy, I hate to open with blaming the weather for not much news, but it is the truth. Of course, school starting and hunting season contribute a lot to that, also.

Today, the sun is shining and despite the wind we have golfers out enjoying the lush green course.

But despite the wind and rain we had four hardy guys show up for Men’s Night. The team of Jeff Gillman and Marty Radvansky were the winners.  Long drive and pure birdie went to Roy Bird, Jeff Gillman got closest to on No. 8 and No. 6 is still there.

What a beautiful fall we are having. Golfing is great out there right now. We had a fantastic Fall Classic to benefit Central Peninsula Habitat for Humanity. Fourteen teams and Mother Nature really smiled on us  with one of the best days all summer. You could smell the roast pig as you rounded the corner after the first nine.

What a busy week it has been with the Funny River Festival Tournament starting us out Friday. This was a fun, nine-hole tournament to kick off the festival.

First-place team was Darwin Cousins, Scott Sundberg and Regan DeMello. Second place was Rob Robertson, Margie Ubin, Dotty Hackett and Jeff Adamec and third went to Tedd Forsi, Trayton Bird, Richard Relano and Ardie Crawford. The closest-to-the-pin prizes went into the mulligan draws. Long drive was Scott Sundberg for the men and Pat Bird for the women.  

Another wonderful golfing day, and not bad for fishing either. Saturday, the first Semper Fi tournament had a good turnout for the first time around with a fun bunch of golfers.
