The great weather brought well over a thousand people out to the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area facilities for the annual Nikiski “Family Fun in the Midnight Sun” event on Saturday June 18th.

Each year it never ceases to amaze me how much the community and organizations step up to make this a successful celebration. There were many great family prizes, as well as bikes and helmets given away throughout the day. Many children left with smiles, painted faces, funky hair-dos and cotton candy-filled bellies. Mission accomplished!
