Tuesday’s voters cast ballots to elect community members to fill Kenai Peninsula School Board seats.
Daniel J. Castimore and D. Shawn Hutchings were vying for the three-year terms representing the Kalifornsky Beach area.
An unofficial ballot count Tuesday night had Castimore leading with 54 percent of the vote, with absentee ballots still to be counted.
Late Tuesday evening he said the 10 percent lead he had — 53 votes — looked positive.
“I am fairly confident,” he said. “I feel very excited. I look forward to serving the members of our community.”
