HOCHFILZEN, Austria — Jakov Fak of Slovenia won a World Cup 12.5-kilometer pursuit Saturday for his first career victory.
Fak missed two targets before edging out Dmitry Malyshko of Russia by 0.9 of a second. Defending overall champion Martin Fourcade of France missed three times and finished third.
In Friday’s sprint race, Kasilof biathlete Jay Hakkinen finished 67th with a time of 28 minutes, 7.4 seconds. Hakkinen had three misses on the range and was 2:36.3 behind winner Andreas Birnbacher of Germany.
Hakkinen did not qualify for Saturday’s pursuit.
