Freezing rain created hazardous conditions on the Central Peninsula on Wednesday, not only on the roads, but also in the air.
According to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch, Sterling pilot, David Duncan, 49, crashed near the end of the airstrip near Duncan Landing Road after trying to land the plane.
Duncan received a minor injury and a 16-year-old female passenger sustained bumps and bruises. Emergency Medical Services were not needed, according to the report.
Duncan told responding troopers freezing rain had begun to work ice on the plane’s windshield.
