More than 4,000 Kenai Peninsula homes lost power this morning when Chugach Electric’s Southcentral Power Project in Anchorage went offline.
All 4,600 Homer Electric Association member homes in Nikiski, Kasilof, Anchor Point, Beaver Creek, Fritz Creek and Homer are now back on line, HEA Spokesperson Joe Gallagher said.
“When the power plant goes down up there it affect the whole … system,” Gallagher said.
Power went out at about 7:58 a.m. but came back by about 8:20 a.m. today, according to an HEA press release.
