The first Superhero Run was held Saturday in Kenai.
The run was an awareness event and benefit for the Kenai Peninsula CASA, or court-appointed special advocates who volunteer as advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system.
About 65 runners registered for the race, a number Joy Petrie, CASA coordinator, said the group was very happy about.
“We’re just so grateful for all of the support, we didn’t expect this many people to register for the first time,” she said.
