COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Jake Layman scored 18 points, Diamond Stone had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 3 Maryland took control early in an 88-63 rout of Rutgers on Wednesday night.
The Terrapins (14-1, 3-0 Big Ten) never trailed in their eighth straight victory. Using runs of 10-0 and 12-2, Maryland built a 46-18 halftime lead and coasted to its ninth consecutive conference victory.
Rutgers (6-10, 0-3) made six field goals and had only one offensive rebound in the first half.
