Marginally talented but excessively competitive in everything from beer drinking to Scrabble, Wesley Remmer lives vicariously through your high school student-athlete. He became a sports reporter at the Peninsula Clarion in November 2010 after a nearly three-year stint as a reporter with the Kitsap News Group, a chain of weekly newspapers, in Kitsap County, Wash. His primary responsibilities are to cover prep sports, Kenai River Brown Bears hockey, the Peninsula Oilers and fishing on the central Kenai Peninsula. When it’s the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners or the football team of his alma mater, the University of Colorado, he suffers annual heartbreak in the perpetual pursuit of championships. When he’s not sifting through Fish Politics or roaming the sidelines with a recorder and notepad in-hand, he enjoys spending time on the river and in the mountains.
