Chambers set schedules
The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday at noon at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. A presentation from Jerry Rombach of Cook Inlet RCAS is planned. Lunch is $15.


The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet Tuesday at noon at Froso's. A presentation from ERA Alaska CEO Bob Hajdukovich is planned. Lunch is $13.

Rosco's set to reopen
Rosco's Pizza in Ninilchik will be reopening for the 2012 season on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Owners Ross and Carol Cameron will be introducing a new menu featuring items they have picked up in their travels to Calif. In addition to the updated menu, Rosco's will be offering 2 for 1 two topping pizzas every Saturday until the summer season begins in May.

Small Business Development Center schedule announced
"Starting a Business" will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, it is a free two-hour seminar from 10 a.m. to noon. Bryan Zak will answer questions on starting a business on the Kenai Peninsula while preparing you for a productive relationship with Alaska Small Business Development Center. Learn about AKSBDC and partner programs and why you should register for free counseling services. "Quickbooks 2009 - Inventory" is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 21, the seminar costs $75. Arrive at 5 p.m., class begins at 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Suite 12 at AK SBDC- Red Diamond Center. PreRequisite: Typing or computer keyboarding experience is required. Bring a thumb drive to class so you can save the training data.

"Profit Mastery", a two-day seminar will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday - Feb. 14-15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar costs $200. South West Regional Director Bryan Zak will present a 2-day, Profit Mastery Seminar at the Red Diamond Center. This 16-hour hands-on course that will help you set goals for the future of your business, control spending and pricing. Aquatic farm application period is now open
The Division of Mining, Land, and Water is now accepting aquatic farm lease applications for shellfish operations in state waters. The application period opened on Jan. 1 and ends on April 30.

During the application period, existing farmers may apply for lease amendments. An aquatic farm lease enables the recipient to use state waters to commercially farm Pacific oysters, mussels, littleneck clams, geoduck clams or other shellfish.
