Kenai Central High School students selected for All-Northwest Choir

From March 15-19, several Kenai Central High School choir students traveled to Seattle to participate in the American Choral Directors Association biennial All-Northwest Honor Choir and Music Conference. Pictured are Duncan Brewer, Taylor Burke, Jonathan Torkelson, Maggie Elder, Joey Schwenke, Faren Calix, Brandon Sorhus, Travis Cooper, Tom Randall, Lucas Bruxvoort, Kyle Dougherty, Kendrick O’Rourke, Justin Wisnewski, Kyle Forée and Daniel Carlson. Not pictured are Molly Pellegrom, Grey Wilson, all selected to represent Alaska at the festival. The guest conductors are Dr. André Thomas, Florida State University-Tallahassee, Dr. Giselle Wyers, University of Washington-Seattle, and Dr. Rollo Dilworth-Temple University in Philadelphia. These same conductors have conducted festivals at Kenai Central in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Kenai Middle School Choir students, pictured are Crista McGahan, Noelle Roberts, David Beck, James Butler, Lucy Anderson, Brett Brown were chosen to represent Alaska for the All-Northwest Youth Honor Choir.

The Gala Concerts will be held on March 18.

Mrs. Rosemary Bird, Ms. Renée Henderson, Mr. Curtis McCubbins and several parents will accompany these students to Seattle.
