Chambers set schedules
The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday at the Kenai Visitor Center from noon to 1 p.m. A presentation from Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor Mike Navarre is planned. Lunch is $15. RSVP is required by Tuesday, May 1. For more information call 283-7989.

Hospital announces new CFO
Central Peninsula Hospital has named Shaun Keef as the organization's new Chief Financial Officer. Keef has served as the Executive Director and Director of Finance for Peninsula Community Health Services of Alaska, a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center, since October of 2011, and started his career with CPH last Friday.

Keef has more than 17 years working as either a CFO or CEO for organizations in Kansas, Oklahoma and Alaska. His past experience has been focused on turning around ailing hospital systems in rural Kansas and Alaska.

High Tunnels for gardening cost-shared by USDA
USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service will continue to fund high tunnel garden structures through the Environmental Quality Incentive Program through fiscal year 2013. Applications must be completed by June 15.

Land and producer eligibility criteria must be met and a NRCS cost-shared high tunnel will be part of a comprehensive conservation plan.

Aquatic farm application period is now open
The Division of Mining, Land, and Water is now accepting aquatic farm lease applications for shellfish operations in state waters. The application period opened on Jan. 1 and ends on April 30. During the application period, existing farmers may apply for lease amendments.

An aquatic farm lease enables the recipient to use state waters to commercially farm Pacific oysters, mussels, littleneck clams, geoduck clams or other shellfish.
