Dimick inducted into Phi Beta Kappa
Monica Dimick, of Soldotna, was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa society at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, during a special ceremony in the Trustee Conference Room of the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center on April 30.

Dimick, a member of the Class of 2012, will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

To be considered for election to membership, a student must be of good character and must have achieved a scholastic record of outstanding excellence in a broad program of studies, the major part of which must lie within the area known as the liberal arts and sciences.

KBEA scholarships awarded
The Kenai Borough Employees Association is pleased to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Each student will recieve $500 to further their education. KBEA’s membership of more than 200 employees funds these scholarships.

Scholarship winners are: Jed Wilde, of Seward, who plans to attend Boise State University and mjor in education; Brooke Hughes, of Skyview High School, who plans to attend Northern Arizona University to study art and psychology, with an emphasis on art therapy; and Savannah Smith, of Soldotna High, who plans to attend Central Washington University and will pursue a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in education.
