Little family gets bigger


Jake and Breezy Little of Kenai announce the birth of their son, Trajan James Little, at 7:56 a.m. on July 5, 2012. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 21 inches. He joins brother Jacoby Kelly Little. His grandparents are Sally and Frankie Little of Morgan, Utah, and Pam and Kelly Saltzgiver of Soldotna.

Innes family welcome daughter

Scott and Kristy Innes of Soldotna announce the birth of their daughter, Annabelle Elizabeth Innes, at 12:03 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2012. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 19 inches. She joins siblings James, Juliet, and Matthew. Her grandparents are Sherry Innes of Kenai, and Mike and Yvonne Finch and Sue Finch of California.

Stephens named to honor roll

Leah Stephens of Kenai was named to the Summer Quarter honor roll at Western Washington University. To qualify for the honor roll, students must complete at least 14 graded credit hours during a quarter and be in the top 10 percent of their class. Stephens earned a 4.0 GPA.

Soldotna library sets hours, services

The Soldotna Public Library has moved to the Peninsula Center Mall next to Ginger’s Restaurant, 44332 Sterling Hwy., during the construction of the library’s expansion project. Internet and wireless service is available, along with the weekly preschool story time on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11 a.m. Best sellers and new released titles, DVDs and a smaller collection of materials are available for check-out. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 6 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays they are closed. For more information, call 262-4227.

Providence Imaging Center hosts mobile Mammogram screenings

Providence Imaging Center’s Mobile Mammography coach will be in the neighborhood. Those interested are invited to visit the coach at the Kenai Peninsula College health fair Nov. 3 and at Soldotna Providence Imaging Center on the Kenai Spur Hwy on Nov. 16. Screenings take just 15 minutes. A doctor’s order or referral is not needed. To set up an appointment call 212-3151 or toll-free 888-458-3151. Pre-registration is required no later than the day before the event.

Family History Center sets winter hours

The Family History Center, a place to research your personal genealogy, 159 Marydale, Soldotna, is now on its winter schedule. They are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. The Center has high-speed internet, plenty of computers, free research sites, free friendly one-on-one assistance and free classes.
