Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 222 West Redoubt Avenue, Soldotna will celebrate a three day Parish renewal. The principal message of the Renewal will take place each evening at 7 p.m. from Sunday through Tuesday. In addition, another presentation will be given after the noon Mass on Nov. 12 and 13 in the church, with a different topic than the evening.

The preacher for the Renewal will be Fr. John Mark Ettenshohn, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate from Belleville, Ill., where the Oblates conduct the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

The theme of the Parish Renewal will be, “Where is God These Days?” The Scriptures tell the story of God with His people on the journey of life, through the joy and pain, the laughter and tears, through the mountaintop highs and the dry desert lows. How about today? Is Godwith us still; and, if so, how? Why does it seem like God is so distant at times, especially when there is a critical need? Increasingly today it appears that God is not all that relevant. We get confused about what do do and what not to do.
