Chambers set schedules

■ The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce meets at noon Tuesday at Froso’s. A presentation on Project SEARCH, which promotes employment opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, by Erin Riehle, founder and senior director, is planned. Lunch is $13. For more information call 262-9814.

■ The Kenai Chamber of Commerce meets at noon Wednesday at the Kenai Visitor and Culutral Center. A presentation by Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent Dr. Steve Atwater is scheduled. Lunch is $15. The chamber requests those planning to attend RSVP at 283-7989.

Small Business Development Center plans workshops

The Alaska Small Business Development Center has scheduled seminars in Suite 12 at the Red Diamond Center. “QuickBooks 2011” ($300) — December (two full day classes). QuickBooks 2011 is an introductory tool to collect and organize your business data so you’re prepared for tax time! Beginning: 1-Find your way around QuickBooks; 2-Set up and create a QuickBooks company; 3 and 4-Work with lists and bank accounts; 5-Use other accounts in QuickBooks. Intermediate: Track sales, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reporting capabilities: 1-Enter sales info; 2-Receive payments and make deposits; 3-Enter and pay bills; 4-Analyze financial data; 5-Additional information. Inventory and payroll are separate classes not included. Day class: Dec. 6-7 from 9 to 5 p.m., register by Nov. 30.

“Recordkeeping for Taxes” ($70) — QuickBooks 2011 Recordkeeping for Taxes is offered on Dec. 11 from 5-9 p.m. or on Dec. 13 from 1-5 p.m. Each class will be in Suite 12 at AK SBDC in the Red Diamond Center. Online registration deadline for both classes is Dec. 7 by 5 p.m.
