Paul Schwenk and Tera Norvelle of Soldotna announce the birth of their daughter, Madalynn Marie Schwenk, at 4:26 p.m. Dec. 13, 2012. She weighed 6 pounds, 11.1 ounces and measured 21 inches. She joins siblings Brandie and Olivia Schwenk. Her grandparents are Cathy Kerns, Steve Norvelle, Wendy Holland and Rick Schwenk.

 

Kimberly Harbick of Nikiski, graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb., during the institution’s commencement exercises Dec. 14. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The Central Peninsula Change Club has distributed the free brochure, “Exercise in the Central Peninsula Area,” in many locations, filled many options in this area to get you moving. Skyview High School will offer a pre-season volleyball camp for middle school-aged girls over Christmas break. The camp will run from Jan. 2-4 from 9 to noon each day. Girls who attend the camp will receive a T-shirt and get

a jump start on the middle school volleyball season. The two day camp costs $40. Skyview High School coaching staff and volleyball players will lead the camp. Kenai Volleyball is holding a Junior High Volleyball camp on from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 27-28 at Kenai Middle School for 6th-8th graders. North Peninsula Recreation is offering a Women’s Basketball League Night on Mondays at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center, starting Jan. 7. Registration deadline is Dec. 28.
