'This Hope' to perform at Soldotna Bible Chapel
The group “This Hope” will be singing at Soldotna Bible Chapel on Monday at 7 p.m. You will not need a ticket, but a love offering will be taken during the concert. Soldotna Bible Chapel is located at 300 W. Marydale Avenue in Soldotna.
Former Denali Mountaineering Guide to speak
Jim Hale, pastor, author and former guide on Denali, will speak this Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service at North Kenai Chapel, located at Mile 29 on the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. He will also be signing copies of his newly released book, “An Alaskan Life of High Adventure.” At 6 p.m., Hale will be speaking and narrating a slide show of a 1976 Hang Gliding Expedition in which he participated, flying hang gliders off the summit of Mount Denali. New Bible study under way

Soldotna Day Aglow to meet
Soldotna Day Aglow will meet every Wednesday at Peninsula Christian Center located in Soldotna. There will be coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m., followed by 10 a.m. worship, teaching and prayer. Babysitting provided.

Clothes Quarters at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 283-4555.
Food pantry open at Soldotna church
The Soldotna United Methodist Church, at 158 South Binkley Street, offers a Food Pantry for residents in the community who are experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11a.m.-2 p.m. for anyone in the area who may need extra help.
To support these efforts, the church is accepting non-perishable food donations, which may be dropped off at the church any Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. or Sunday from 9 a.m.-noon. To make monetary donations, mail a check to the address above designating it for the SUMC Food Pantry or drop it by. Catholicism classes held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Classes for anyone interested in the Catholic Church will be held each Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The classes are held in O’Neill Hall on Redoubt Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Those attending will learn about the teachings of the Church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ to His disciples.

Good News Clubs forming
Child Evangelism Fellowship offers Good News Clubs at Aurora Borealis Charter School, Mountain View Elementary, Soldotna Elementary, K-Beach Elementary and the Merit Inn. Children are taught values and character qualities through Bible lessons, games, and songs. Snacks and prizes will be provided. All volunteer and staff leaders are screened for child protection. Parents are welcome to attend and are responsible for transportation following the clubs. Permission slips are available in all schools.
