Reid and Amanda Rochelle Flynn of Nikiski announce the birth of their daughter, Brystol Rain Flynn, at 12:57 p.m. on Jan. 28, 2013. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and measured 19 1/4 inches. She joins siblings Jordyn Renee, 9, and Chevelle Rae, 2. Her grandparents are Tom and Becky Flynn of Nikiski; Rich and Sarah Holliday of Nikiski, and Rick Cozad of Rock Springs, Wyo.

Air National Guard Airman Johndavid Ahlberg graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Ahlberg a 2012 graduate of Kenai Central High School.

Danika Nicole Summer of Soldotna earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash.
