Air Force Airman Tanner Link graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Link earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Rob Link and Deb Pollock, both of Soldotna. The airman is a 2010 graduate of Soldotna High School.

Danika Nicole Summer of Soldotna earned her bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in sociology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash. Summer is a 2008 graduate of Kenai Central High School.

Two students from the central Kenai Peninsula were named to the fall Dean’s List at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., for the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year: Lela Walker of Clam Gulch, a third year School of Pharmacy and Health Professions student; and Trisha Trujillo of Soldotna, a second year School of Pharmacy and Health Professions student.

Full-time students who earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Dean’s Honor Roll.
