Soldotna Day Aglow to meet


Soldotna Day Aglow will meet every Wednesday at Peninsula Christian Center located in Soldotna. There will be coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m. followed by 10 a.m. worship, teaching and prayer. The group will be watching a DVD series by Beth Moore called Law of Love. Babysitting provided. For more information contact Judy Risung at 283-3534.

Nikiski Aglow to begin lecture series

Nikiski Aglow is hosting the Beth Moore DVD lecture/study series “The Law of Love — lessons from the pages of Deuteronomy.” Introduction will start Saturday morning. The location of the meeting is Mile 23 North Road at Nikiski New Hope Christian Fellowship. The time is 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday mornings for the next 7 weeks, through April 13. Nikiski Nazarene offers Financial Peace class

Nikiski Nazarene Church is hosting Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class starting March 20 at 6 p.m. at Mile 18 Kenai Spur Highway. Cost is $95 per family. Free child care will be provided. For more information or to register go to or call 283-3623.

Youth group plans garage sale

The Youth Group at Star of the North Lutheran Church is having a garage sale 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 9. The sale is to help the youth group get to San Antonio for the National Lutheran Youth Convention in July. There will be lots of treasures available including many books and movies. The church is located at 216 N. Forest Drive, Kenai, next to Fireweed Herb Garden. For more information call 907-283-4153.

Clothes Quarters open weekly

Clothes Quarters at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 283-4555.

Food pantry open at Soldotna church

The Soldotna United Methodist Church, at 158 South Binkley Street, offers a Food Pantry for residents in the community who are experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11a.m.-2 p.m. for anyone in the area who may need extra help. 

To support these efforts, the church is accepting non-perishable food donations, which may be dropped off at the church any Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. or Sunday from 9 a.m.-noon. To make onetary donations, mail a check to the address above designating it for the SUMC Food Pantry or drop it by.

Good News Clubs forming

Child Evangelism Fellowship offers Good News Clubs at Aurora Borealis Charter School, Mountain View Elementary, Soldotna Elementary, K-Beach Elementary and the Merit Inn. Children are taught values and character qualities through Bible lessons, games, and songs. Snacks and prizes will be provided. All volunteer and staff leaders are screened for child protection. Parents are welcome to attend and are responsible for transportation following the clubs. Permission slips are available in all schools.

Kids' activities available at Grace Brethren Church

■ Kids Wednesday Night Discipleship is Wedensdays from 6:30-8 p.m. at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road, open to kids ages birth to fifth grade. Free, no preregistration required. For more information, call 907-262-6442.

■ Kid Zone is held every Tuesday that there is school at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church for kids ages birth to preschool and a parent/guardian from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with indoor slides and lots of toys! Free!
