Trisha Ozhuwan and Matthew Whitney of Kenai announce the birth of their son, Dusty Remington Whitney, born at 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 23, 2013. He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 22 inches. His grandparents are Tina and Kenny Bingaman of Soldotna, and Pete and Judy Lis of Kenai.

Craig and Melissa Litke announce the birth of their daughter, Nora Lynn, at 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2012. She weighed 7.9 pounds and measured 20 1/4 inches. She joins siblings Alison, Tyler, Noah, Caleb, and Jordyn. Her grandparents are Gary and Cathy Parker of Nikiski, and Terry and Lavina Litke of Washington.

Adam and Carly Reimer of Soldotna announce the birth of their son, Gus Stanley Reimer, at 1:19 a.m. Feb. 28, 2013. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. His grandparents are Ted and Carole Bear of Soldotna, Faye Shea of Reno, Nevada, and the late Stephen “Gus” Reimer.

Nathan and Valerie White of Soldotna announce the birth of their daughter, Natalie Elissa White, at 3:34 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2013. She weighed 11 pounds, 3.7 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches. She joins siblings Johnathan Jay, age 6, Abigail Elizabeth, 4, and Evelyn Marie, 2. Her grandparents are Bill and Liz Lynch, and John and Mary White. Her great-grandparents are Dick and Betty Lynch.

Matthew Mayer, born and raised in Kenai, recently earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Boston College. Mayer is a 2003 graduate of Kenai Central High School and a 2008 graduate of Boise State University. He is the son of Ken and Cathy Mayer. He will spend the next year or two as a postdoctoral researcher in Switzerland, studying materials for solar energy capture.
