Young ladies' conference scheduled


There is a Radiant Purity Video Conference for young ladies ages 12-22 to be held at the North Kenai Chapel, Mile 29 of the Kenai Spur Highway today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. How can a young lady stay emotionally and physically pure as she waits for God’s best? What is a young lady to do while she waits? How can parents protect and guide? Taught by Sarah Mally, author of Before You Meet Prince Charming, and the Bright Lights team, this conference will provide practical and Biblical answers to everyday questions and deep life struggles. Grace Lutheran School plans open house

Grace Lutheran School will hold an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to tour the classrooms, meet the teachers, and learn about the high-quality Christian education your child can receive (Pre-K through 8th grade). Register your child for the 2013-14 school year before June 15 and save $100 off your first month’s tuition. Grace Lutheran is located in Ciechanski Road in Kenai.

Soldotna Day Aglow to meet

Soldotna Day Aglow will meet every Wednesday at Peninsula Christian Center located in Soldotna. There will be coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m. followed by 10 a.m. worship, teaching and prayer. The group will be watching a DVD series by Beth Moore called Law of Love. Babysitting provided.

Nikiski Aglow to continue lecture series

Nikiski Aglow is hosting the Beth Moore DVD lecture/study series “The Law of Love — lessons from the pages of Deuteronomy.” The location of the meeting is Mile 23 North Road at Nikiski New Hope Christian Fellowship. Clothes Quarters opens weekly

Clothes Quarters at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 283-4555.

Food pantry open at Soldotna church

The Soldotna United Methodist Church, at 158 South Binkley Street, offers a Food Pantry for residents in the community who are experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11a.m.-2 p.m. for anyone in the area who may need extra help. 

To support these efforts, the church is accepting non-perishable food donations, which may be dropped off at the church any Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. or Sunday from 9 a.m.-noon. Good News Clubs forming

Child Evangelism Fellowship offers Good News Clubs at Aurora Borealis Charter School, Mountain View Elementary, Soldotna Elementary, K-Beach Elementary and the Merit Inn. Children are taught values and character qualities through Bible lessons, games, and songs. Snacks and prizes will be provided. All volunteer and staff leaders are screened for child protection. Parents are welcome to attend and are responsible for transportation following the clubs. Permission slips are available in all schools.
