Kenai Senior Center Activities

What’s happening at the Kenai Senior Center for the month of May:


■ Mother’s Day Luncheon — Bring your Heirloom Aprons and participate in the Vintage Aprons on Parade. Tell us why your apron is special. Men will serve the women and every mother will go home with a gift. The McClure Family will be here to perform for us. Please sign up at the KSC ahead of time.

■ Party Like it’s 1953 Dance — 6:30-9 p.m. Music by ‘Bull Don & the Moose Nuggets,’ $5 and a finger food to share will get you in. Dancing, Games and Prizes! Dress in your best 1953 outfit.

■ Clean Up Day — We will be joining the rest of our Kenai Neighbors to help make Kenai sparkle. Meet at the KSC at 9 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts we’ll pick up trash from the KSC to the Kenai Green Strip, ending at the Community BBQ at the Kenai Green Strip.

■ May 27 — Kenai Senior Center is closed for Memorial Day

■ Memorial Day Luncheon — May 30, 11:30 a.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ General Exercise: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9 a.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ Growing Strong Strength Training Class: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 10 a.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ Line Dancing: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday, 10 a.m., Kenai Recreation Center

■ Tai-Chi: Tuesday/Thursday, 10 a.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ Zumba Gold: Tuesday/Thursday, 2 p.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ Yoga by Dr. Lamb: Tuesday/Thursday, 6 p.m., Kenai Senior Center

■ Walking Club: Fridays (beginning May 10), 1:30 p.m., various locations around Kenai. This activity is subject to change. Please call the KSC to confirm time and location. Last Friday of the month is Kenai Beach Friday!

■ Ceramics: 1 p.m. Mondays, Kenai Senior Center

■ All In 1 Craft Time: 1 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of the month, Kenai Senior Center

■ Open Quilting: 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Kenai Senior Center

■ Knitting: 1 p.m. Fridays, Kenai Senior Center

■ Meditation: 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Kenai Senior Center

■ Bible Study: 7 a.m. Thursdays, Kenai Senior Center

■ Bluegrass: 2nd and 5th Thursdays of May, 6-10 p.m.

Congregate Meals are served Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The center has many activities that are not listed above and invites you to come visit anytime during regular operating hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 283-4156 for more information.
