Births

Chad and Lindsay Johnson announce the birth of their daughter, Lauren June Johnson, at 2:27 a.m. Sept. 2, 2012 at Central Peninsula Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 10.9 ounces and measured 19 inches. She joins a sister Natalie. Her grandparents are Roy and Tammy Dudley of Soldotna and Dwight and Lenoria Johnson of Eagle River.

 

Rebekah Hartley of Nikiski is among the 2,315 graduates of the University of Alaska Anchorage Class of 2013. She received an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing at a celebratory ceremony at the George M. Sullivan Arena in Anchorage on May 5. Her parents are Paul and Patti Hartley.

Megan Neill, a sophomore communication sciences and disorders major from Soldotna, was among more than 1,000 Harding University students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the spring semester. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average. Harding University is in Searcy, Ark.

Air Force Airman Todd A. Kruger graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Kruger is a 2011 graduate of Kenai Central High School.
