Bruce and Patricia Mills celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday

The couple marked the occasion with a trip to Halibut Cove. Today, they will share their celebration with the Peninsula Bible Fellowship at noon at Cook Inlet Academy.

Ariel Madden and Daniel Haakenson were married in a morning ceremony on April 6, 2013 at Tern Lake in Cooper Landing.

The bride is the daughter of Gregory and Joella Madden. She wore a white and red dress with some embellished edging, floral pattern and bead work, and carried a bouquet of mostly black roses with some red and some rhinestones in individual ones, and some mint and sparkles throughout.

Aislyn Madden served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Morrison, Jeanette Warner, Adrienne Slater, Arika Madden and Adria Madden. Lexi Collins was the flower girl.

The groom is the son of John and Celeste Haakenson. He wore a black and white tux with a red rose and mint boutonniere. Everett Collins was his best man. Groomsmen were Jason Slater, Benjamin Haakenson and Matthew Madden. Chuck Gibbons was an usher, and the ring bearer was Aaron.

A reception for the couple was held at the Kenai Visitors Center, and included a four-tier wedding cake with the appearance of melting and sparkling snow and a cake topper that looked like an ice sculpture.
