Nikiski Nazarene to host fishermen's blessing

On Sunday the Nikiski Church of the Nazarene will host the 2013 Fisherman’s Blessing along with a light, continental breakfast.

The continental breakfast starts at 9:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m. with a worship service at 10:45 a.m. including the Fisherman’s Blessing.

Everyone from the community is invited to participate as we specifically pray for God’s blessing of provision and safety for those connected to the fishing industry, whether as commercial, sport, personal use, or subsistence fishermen.

Pastor Jason Evoy says, “The culture, economy, and lifestyle of our community is significantly influenced by fishing, especially during these summer months. Our desire is to create an opportunity where fishermen may come together and celebrate their similarities while seeking God’s safety and blessing on our families and community.”
