Foley, Shafikova wed in Russia

Miss Alissa Shafikova and Thomas Ian Foley were united in marriage on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Moscow, Russia.

The bride’s parents hosted a seated dinner and reception that evening for family and friends at a local restaurant in Moscow.

The bride is the daughter of Albert Shafikov and Raushaniya Shafikova of Moscow, Russia.

The groom is the son of Kimberlie Foley and the late Thomas “Rocky” Foley of Kenai, Alaska.

The bride is a student at MATI University in Moscow. She is studying sociology and economics

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Kenai Central High. He attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he graduated in 2007 with a degree in Journalism and French. He works as an English teacher at a private school in Moscow.

The couple will honeymoon in California, Las Vegas, New York City and Alaska this summer. They make their home in Moscow, Russia.

There will be an open house reception for the couple on August 3, 4-9 p.m. at the home of the groom in Kenai.
