All Around Girls shine

The Sterling Community Center sponsored the Miss All Around Girl Contest on August 10. Nineteen girls competed in four different age groups: Preschool – 1st grade “Miss All Around Youngster”; 2nd – 4th grade “Miss All Around Girl”; 5th – 6th grade “Miss All Around Tween”; and 7th - 11th grade “Miss All Around Teen.” The girls competed in four different categories that included a health and fitness routine, talent, poise and presentation, and an interview.

In the Miss All Around Youngster the winner of the health and fitness routine was Anara Kimple, talent Nannetta Katzenberger, poise and presentation Alivia Puentes, and interview Lydia Hopper. Alivia Puentes was crowned “Miss All Around Youngster” for the preschool - 1st grade group.

In the Miss All Around Girl the winner of the health and fitness routine was Chloee Swanson, talent Sarah Waller, poise and presentation Chloee Swanson, and interview Faith Katzenberger. Chloee Swanson was crowned “Miss All Around Girl” for the 2nd - 4th grade group.

In the Miss All Around Tween the winner of the health and fitness routine was Ashlyn Vehmeier, talent Audrey Hopper, poise and presentation Tara Heathers, and interview Alea Winkler. Jaiden Streiff was crowned “Miss All Around Tween” for the 5th and 6th grade group.

In the Miss All Around Teen the winner of the health and fitness routine was Petra Murray, talent Petra Murray, poise and presentation Kaitlynn Boyer, and interview Rachel Nill. Petra Murray was crowned “Miss All Around Teen” for the 7th - 12th grade group.

Leading up to this event the girls held a bake sale at the Sterling Community Center, volunteered at the Heritage Place Nursing Home in Soldotna, and had many practices at the Sterling Community Center.
