Church plans for Harvest Festival
Star of the North Lutheran Church is having their annual Harvest Festival at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at 216 N. Forest Drive Kenai. Lots of games including apple bobbing, darts, bean bag toss and a cupcake walk. For more information, call 283-4153.
Soldotna Church of God plans classes
Soldotna Church of God on the corner of Redoubt and Binkley Street is starting a class entitled “Foundations for Christian Living” on October 20 at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Miriam Humphries will be facilitating this class. Pastor Alan Humphries will be starting an Anger Management class on October 22 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.; you’ll be mad if you miss this. Also this month on October 31 the church will be hosting it’s annual Truth Time Machine from 7-9:00 p.m. Come take a walk in biblical times with characters from the bible, enjoy some refreshments and of course lots of candy.
Calvary Baptist hosts AWANA club
Calvary Baptist Church in Kenai is offering AWANA for kids ages 3 through 6th grade. AWANA (www.awana.org) is an international kids club. Each week, participants will memorize Bible verses, play games, hear Bible lessons, and earn rewards. Catholic Churches to hold RCIA classes for Inquirers
Classes for anyone interested in the Catholic Church will be held each Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Soldotna. The classes will be held in O’Neill Hall, 238 W. Redoubt Avenue at 6 p.m. each Wednesday of the school year. During the year those attending will learn about the teachings of the Church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ to His disciples. Sterling church hosts AWANA program
Sterling Baptist Church is starting an AWANA program this year, every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. The club will meet at Sterling Baptist Church. Children 3 years old through sixth grade are welcome. Call Sterling Baptist for more information at 262-4711.
United Methodist Church provides food pantry
The Kenai United Methodist Church provides a food pantry for those in need every Monday from noon to 3:00 p.m. The Methodist Church is located on the Kenai Spur Highway next to the Boys and Girls Club. First Baptist Church Soldotna, located at 159 S. Binkley Street, is re-opening its Clothes 4 U program. Beginning Aug. 24, it will be open on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All clothing and shoes are free to the public.

The Soldotna Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for residents in our community who may be experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is located at the Soldotna United Methodist Church at 158 South Binkley Street.
Non-perishable food items or monetary donations may be dropped off at the church Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Thank you for your support.
The Way Café serving dinner
The Way Café, is located at the Merit Inn, 260 South Willow St. in Kenai, will continue serving free meals to youth 18 and younger from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday to Friday. Meals for adults are $3.
